Gross output in Armenia's agriculture, forestry and fisheries in 2024 exceeded 1 trillion AMD

YEREVAN, February 7. /ARKA/. The gross volume of production in Armenia in 2024 within the sectors of agriculture, forestry, and fish farming amounted to 1,020,542.8 million drams at current prices, marking a 0.9% increase compared to 2023. This was reported by the National Statistical Committee of Armenia.
Specifically, the volume of production in the agriculture sector grew by 1.6% last year, reaching 958,804.3 million drams. Within this, the volume of production in animal husbandry amounted to 503,237.2 million drams, showing a 2.2% increase from the previous year, while crop production stood at 455,567.1 million drams, with a 0.9% rise.
In 2024, the country sold 183.8 thousand tons of meat from farm animals and poultry (live weight) for slaughterhouses, an increase of 4.6%. The production of milk amounted to 574.4 thousand tons (a decline of 0.9%), and 721.2 million eggs were produced (a decline of 1.5%).
Additionally, during the reporting period, 218.5 thousand tons of grains and legumes were grown (a decrease of 24.8%), along with 337.7 thousand tons of potatoes (a decrease of 7.4%). The production of vegetables increased by 4.7%, reaching 636.2 thousand tons, while melons and gourds rose by 5.2% to 122.8 thousand tons. However, the production of fruits and berries decreased by 4.5%, totaling 344.9 thousand tons, and grape production fell by 8%, amounting to 196.3 thousand tons.
In the forestry sector, production reached 4,108.2 million drams, showing a significant increase of 53.2%. The fisheries sector also saw growth, with a production volume of 57,630.3 million drams, an increase of 4.3%. ($1 = 396.83 drams)
