YEREVAN, January 7. /ARKA/. In Armenia, businessmen and investors in priority sectors will be exempt from customs duties on the import of raw materials and equipment, announced RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan.

"Those businessmen and investors who invest in priority sectors announced by the government and import raw materials or equipment from third countries outside the EAEU will be exempted from customs duties by the government," he said live on his Facebook page. The minister reported that 67 such initiatives received support last year, creating 3,405 jobs and providing $100.5 million in assistance.

"Of this amount, $1.2 million was supposed to go to the RA state budget, and $99.3 million to the budgets of the EAEU countries, but we preferred that the entire $100.5 million remain in Armenia," Papoyan emphasized.
