The elections will be free and fair, and the NKR Parliament will “remain up to the mark” as far as its political responsibility is concerned, Speaker of the NKR Parliament Ashot Ghulyan stated.
STEPANAKERT, June 20. /ARKA/. The upcoming presidential election will be held by tradition in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR). The elections will be free and fair, and the NKR Parliament will “remain up to the mark” as far as its political responsibility is concerned, Speaker of the NKR Parliament Ashot Ghulyan stated at the last sitting of the 4th parliamentary session.
Speaker Ghulyan congratulated all the presidential nominees on their registration and called on them “to win public confidence in a correct election struggle.” He also urged the people to take an active part in this serious political event.
The campaign of presidential candidates will be held in the NKR June 20 to July 17, 2007.
Commission (CEC) registered the former Chief of the NKR National Security Service Bako Sahakyan, NKR Deputy Foreign Minister Masis Malyan, member of the NKR Parliament Armen Abgaryan, the lecturer at Artsakh State University, Professor Vanya Avetisyan and Chairman of the NKR Communist Party Hrant Melkumyan as presidential nominees.
The presidential election is to be held in the NKR on July 19, 2007. P.T. –0--
