YEREVAN, May 19. /ARKA/. Armenia’s National Assembly gave final reading to the amendments to the RA Law on the Acts of Civil Status.
According to RA Deputy Minister of Justice Gevorg Malkhasyan, the amended law enables citizens to divorce right in the wedding palace which has not been authorized to dissolve marriages.
The law provides for divorcing in registry offices where the marriage was once registered.
“All relevant agencies in Yerevan must register divorces and adoptions,” Malkhasyan said.
In her turn, RA NA Deputy Speaker Arevik Petrosyan said there was no need to amend the duties of wedding palaces, fearing of non-controllability of official registration process. Z. Sh. –0--
