YEREVAN, January 17. /ARKA/. On Monday, Armenian Justice Minister Hrayr Tovmasyan, speaking at a news conference, said substantial institutional and structural changes would be implemented in the ministry.

Tovmasyan took up the office in late December 2010.

“These changes will be aimed at solving problems related to European Human Rights Court’s decisions which are not directly connected with Armenia, but may have indirect impacts on us,” he said.

“The reforms will make it possible to avoid problems with the Constitutional Court. We’ll issue a special manual for those citizens who constantly deal with the justice ministry.”

Tovmasyan pointed out establishment of close ties with media outlets and ordinary people as one of the ministry’s top-priority objectives.

He said some 8,000 people appeal to the justice ministry every day.

The minister said that marriage registration procedure would be reconsidered as well.
