Alvina Grigoryan to run state-owned armenian fruit company

Alvina Grigoryan has become the executive director of state-owned Armenian Fruit OJSC by winning an appropriate tender, the government’s press office reported on Wednesday.
YEREVAN, August 11. /ARKA/. Alvina Grigoryan has become the executive director of state-owned Armenian Fruit OJSC by winning an appropriate tender, the government’s press office reported on Wednesday.

The decision was made on Tuesday at the Creation of Rural Opportunities program’s regular session presided by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
The state-run Armenian Fruit was established as part of this program, which is aimed at reduction of poverty and improvement of living standards in rural areas by planting fruit trees.

About $52 million has been targeted for establishment of this company. Of this amount, $13.5 million has been received from IFAD and $20 million from OPEC.
Danish government will allocate $3.5 million for consulting services.

Beneficiaries will provide $3 million and the government $11 million.

The company will import seedlings and will run all the procedures necessary for receiving final products.

Issues related top preserving, sorting, selling and exporting of final products will also be within the company’s competence.

Some 700 hectares are planned to be planted with fruit trees under this program. -0-
