Armenian Premier congratulates new Greek Prime Minister on appointment

Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sarkisian on Thursday congratulated the newly appointed Prime Minister of Greece, Lucas Papadimos, on taking office, the press service of the Armenian government said.
YEREVAN, November 11. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sarkisian on Thursday congratulated the newly appointed Prime Minister of Greece, Lucas Papadimos, on taking office, the press service of the Armenian government said.

In his congratulatory message Tigran Sarkisian said taking up the premiership in a very important period of European and Greek history is a very serious and important mission, as developments in Greece are at the center of the global attention.

"Mr. Prime Minister, I remember our joint work , when we led the central banks of our countries. You were very effective as chairman of Greek Central Bank making a significant contribution to the strengthening of the European Central Bank, and I am confident that this progress will continue," his message says.Sarkisian wished the prime minister of Greece energy and good luck for a speedy overcoming of the problems that have arisen in the country.
Former deputy chairman of the European Central Bank, Lucas Papadimos, was appointed prime minister on Thursday.

Previous head of Cabinet, Georgiu Papandreou announced his resignation on October 9 to open the way for a coalition government and subsequent early elections, which are scheduled for February 2012.

The new coalition government has until February to approve a loan agreement with the EU. -0-
