YEREVAN, November 8. /ARKA/. Armenia and Iran have no particular military cooperation programs, Armenian Defense Minister Michael Harutyunyan said Thursday at a press conference.
“We have no particular programs yet, and this issue needs additional study. After reaching an accord on this matter, we’ll become able to point out particular areas for military cooperation”, he said.
The minister said that the main objective at this stage was to establish cooperation in logistics.
“Iran is our neighbor, and if we provide our troops with logistics through Iran, it will be a great support for our army”, the minister said.
His Iranian counterpart Mostafa Mohammad Najar said that the countries have already tried to outline military cooperation prospects and made some arrangements.
In particular, he said, Iran will supply fuels, lubricants and rations to Armenian army.
