73% of Armenia’s voters believe presidential run-off likely
YEREVAN, February 20. /ARKA/. 73% of Armenia’s voters believe a presidential run-off to be likely, Vice-Chairman of the Alliance civil initiative Gevorg Melikyan told reporters.
He also pointed out that in the run-off either first president Levon Ter-Petrosyan or Chairman of the County of Law Party Artur Baghdasaryan will be Serge Sargsyan’s rivals.
“We have not yet process all the data on this issue. However, we can even now say that 314 of the respondents believe that Sargsyan and Ter-Petrosyan will take part in the run-off, and 156 named Sargsyan and Baghdasaryan,” Melikyan said.
He also pointed out that 27% of the respondents ruled out the presidential run-off. He specified that most of them voted for Serge Sargsyan.
The presidential election was held in Armenia on February 19. By 8:00 p.m. local time, 1,642,057 or 69.26% of the voters had participated in the voting. –0--
