Moscow attaches importance to Armenian-Russian cooperation development, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said during his meeting with RA Prime Minister Serge Sargsian.
YEREVAN, March 19. /ARKA/. Moscow attaches importance to Armenian-Russian cooperation development, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said during his meeting with RA Prime Minister Serge Sargsian.
He gave Sargsian RF President Vladimir Putin’s and his successor Dmitry Medvedev’s regards.
Kremlin invites the newly elected Armenian President to Russia, according to Karasin.
Armenian President Robert Kocharian declared a 20-day state of emergency on March 1after a day of clashes between police and protesters.
The clashes began when authorities used force to clear Freedom Square of thousands of demonstrators who had camped there for the past 10 days.
Afterwards, the strikers went to the French Embassy in Armenia near the Municipality of Yerevan. 230 people were injured and eight died as a result of clashes.
RA Prime Minister Serge Sargsian said the country’s security is a priority for Armenian authorities. He assured Karasin the government will be guided by the supremacy of law in the future as well.
Sargsian expressed readiness to enter into a dialogue with those who care about the future of the country.–0—
