Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan said Monday he was not going to radically change the composition of the new government.
YEREVAN, March 19. / ARKA /. Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan said Monday he was not going to radically change the composition of the new government.
"Today I do not see any reason for major changes in the government, however, this does not mean that its members are insured against changes, or that I will give them some benefits,' the president said at a news conference with local journalists.
Sargsyan said the government has fulfilled its objective to ensure at least a 7% economic growth and also a wage growth, which is higher than inflation rate.
"Now, do I have a moral right to tell this government to resign? There are thousands of defects, omissions, but who can guarantee that new people can do this job better? ' Sargsyan said.
The president also noted that the average term in office of members of this government is three years. "Three years are not enough to develop into a normal specialist. Three years is a period of time when a person is just beginning to understand where he works and what being a Cabinet minister means,' he added.
The president said over the last five years the government, composed of 18 ministers and prime minister, has seen 20 changes.
Under Armenian Constitution after taking office (50 days after the election) by new president, the government resigns. In ten days after accepting the resignation of the government the president appoints a new prime minister who is given twenty days to form a new government. -0-
