Armenian serviceman killed, three wounded by Azerbaijanis – Yerevan vows retaliation

An Armenian soldier, Garik Poghosyan, 19, was killed and his three fellow servicemen Arthur Andranikyan, Araik Zhakhmaryan and Martin Petrosyan were wounded today in the fire opened by Azerbaijanis from the other side of the border on the convoy moving along the Berd-Ijevan road in Armenia’s Tavush province, the Armenian defense ministry’s press office reports.
YEREVAN, October 22. /ARKA/. An Armenian soldier, Garik Poghosyan, 19, was killed and his three fellow servicemen Arthur Andranikyan, Araik Zhakhmaryan and Martin Petrosyan were wounded today in the fire opened by Azerbaijanis from the other side of the border on the convoy moving along the Berd-Ijevan road in Armenia’s Tavush province, the Armenian defense ministry’s press office reports.
The office of Andrzej Kasprzyk, Personal Representative of OSCE CiO was informed about the incident.
“The defense ministry of Armenia states that this criminal move of the enemy won’t be left without response, and responsibility for this provocation will be borne by provocateurs themselves,” the ministry said in its statement and expressed condolences to relatives and friends of Garik Poghosyan. ---0----
