Cabinet re-structuring aims at better efficiency – Armenian ministry of justice
YEREVAN, November 11. /ARKA/. Re-organizing the government aims at improving efficiency of public management, Armenia’s minister of justice Hovhannes Manukyan said in the parliament on Monday.

Armenia’s government submitted the bill about the government structure on November 6. The bill envisages merger of the ministry of territorial administration with that of emergencies and forming a new ministry of international economic integration and reforms. The issue was considered urgent and was sent to the parliament for consideration.

Manukyan said the ministry of territorial administration deals with territorial development problems. On the other hand, the ministry of emergencies is responsible for risk assessments.

Armenia is located in quite a risky zone in terms of earthquakes and other natural disasters, and assessment of these risks is correlated with territorial development, the minister said. He also reminded that the ministry of emergencies rescue service was created in the ministry of territorial administration at the time.

Manukyan stressed the re-structuring requires no additional expenses from the government budget.

The post of the minister of territorial administration remained vacant after Armen Gevorgyan resigned in mid October.

There are currently 18 ministries in Armenia’s government. –0--
