Discussions on extending the mandate of the EU Monitoring Mission in Armenia (EUMA) are not underway, stated the head of the mission, Markus Ritter.
YEREVAN, February 13. /ARKA/. Discussions on extending the mandate of the EU Monitoring Mission in Armenia (EUMA) are not underway, stated the head of the mission, Markus Ritter.
"The Armenian authorities want the civilian EU Monitoring Mission (EUMA) to continue its work until the signing and ratification of the peace treaty (with Azerbaijan). However, there are no discussions about extending the mission's mandate," EUMA Head Markus Ritter told reporters as he concludes his mission in Armenia. His words are quoted by Azatutyun Radio.
EUMA's current mandate expires in February of next year.
