YEREVAN, September 20. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sarkisian has sacked Hakob Beglaryan, head of the Procurement Center, the government’s press office reported today.
The dismissal was proposed by Finance Minister Vache Gabrielian.
The decision comes after President Serzh Sargsyan criticized the government last weekend for ‘widespread bribery and nepotism’ in state procurements.
An inquiry conducted by the presidential Oversight Service has found that procurement contracts are awarded to private firms in violation of the law. -0--
