YEREVAN, February 11. /ARKA/. Moscow expects to continue cooperation with Yerevan on integration projects, particularly within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
This was stated by Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, as reported by TASS, commenting at the request of journalists on US Vice President J.D. Vance's trip to the South Caucasus and announcements of plans for large-scale joint projects.
"We are united with Armenia by integration projects. It is unlikely that anyone would dispute the role the EAEU plays in maintaining such high rates of economic development in this country; this role is obvious. And we hope that our cooperation will continue," he said.
In early 2026, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan confirmed the country's intention to become a full member of the European Union, but emphasized that this required meeting its standards.
The Russian side has repeatedly emphasized that Armenia cannot combine membership in the EU and the EAEU. Moscow views the adoption of the law on the republic's intention to join the EU as the beginning of its withdrawal from the Eurasian Union.
