Relations between Armenia and Russia are undergoing a transformation and should develop based on the principles of friendship and mutual respect, stated Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

YEREVAN, September 25. /ARKA/. Relations between Armenia and Russia are undergoing a transformation and should develop based on the principles of friendship and mutual respect, stated Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

"Our relations with Russia are at a stage of transformation, and this is a natural process, because throughout the preceding period, the major factor influencing relations between Armenia and Russia was the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan," Pashinyan said while addressing the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

According to the Prime Minister, the changes in Armenian-Russian relations are taking place against the backdrop of a new situation in the region.

"Now that we have established peace with Azerbaijan, relations between Armenia and Russia will naturally change, and our desire is for these relations to develop based on the principles of friendship and mutual respect," Pashinyan declared.
