Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan consider it necessary to step up efforts to boost trade and economic relations and foster ties between the business communities of the two countries.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan consider it necessary to step up efforts to boost trade and economic relations and foster ties between the business communities of the two countries. This was reported by the press service of the Armenian government.
The issue was discussed during a meeting between Pashinyan and Erdogan in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
The two leaders reviewed the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Turkey and the implementation of agreements reached so far.
The parties emphasized the importance of advancing the normalization process and expressed their readiness to give fresh impetus to bilateral relations.
In this context, Pashinyan and Erdogan deemed it necessary to pursue consistent efforts to boost trade and economic relations and establish ties between the business communities of the two countries.
Among the priority areas, the parties also highlighted the continued work on the joint restoration of the historic Ani Bridge.
Pashinyan and Erdogan also exchanged views on regional issues. In particular, the parties noted the need to implement the TRIPP project and unblock regional transport links.
About the TRIPP project
The "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP) project envisages the creation of a multimodal transit corridor within Armenia while preserving the republic's sovereignty and jurisdiction.
A framework agreement was signed by Armenia and the USA in June 2026. TRIPP is intended, in particular, to provide a transport link between the main territory of Azerbaijan and the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic via Armenian territory.
Plans include the development of rail and road connections, as well as the provision of routes for oil and gas pipelines, fiber-optic lines, and power transmission lines. The Armenian-American TRIPP Development Company was established to implement the project; the US side holds a 74% stake, while Armenia holds 26%.
