YEREVAN, October 6. /ARKA/. The implementation of the TRIPP project could significantly transform the economic and transport landscape of Armenia and the region, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated on Tuesday at the Armenian-British Business Forum in Yerevan.

"Overall, it is evident that the Republic of Armenia and our region are undergoing a transformation; this transformation is, of course, linked to the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the processes stemming from it," Pashinyan said.

According to him, work is underway on a daily basis to launch the practical implementation of the TRIPP project, which will serve as a key factor in reshaping the economic environment not only in Armenia but across the region.

Pashinyan noted that a certain level of investment activity surrounding Armenia is already visible, and the implementation of TRIPP is expected to foster new projects and boost the investment appeal of both the country and the region.

Border with Turkey and railway connections

Pashinyan stated that the Armenian side expects the border with Turkey to open in the near future, alongside the development of the TRIPP project.

"In the near future, alongside developments regarding the TRIPP project, we also anticipate the opening of the border between Armenia and Turkey, and consequently, the opening of railway connections between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and between Armenia and Turkey," he said.

According to the Prime Minister, the implementation of TRIPP should also establish a railway link between the Persian Gulf and the Black Sea.

Gas Pipelines, Oil Pipelines, and Power Transmission Lines

Pashinyan announced that the possibility of constructing gas and oil pipelines is currently being considered as part of regional infrastructure development.

"Concrete discussions regarding power transmission lines are also underway," he said.

According to the Prime Minister, the development of transport and energy infrastructure creates new opportunities, including for economic relations between Armenia and the UK.

"All this means one thing: Armenia and the UK are drawing closer together—geographically in a somewhat figurative sense, but directly in terms of transport—and now is the time to discuss what opportunities can be leveraged," Pashinyan stated.
