Pashinyan states the regional significance of the future Constitution of Armenia

YEREVAN, March 13. /ARKA/. The new Constitution of Armenia will have regional significance, said Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“The thesis I proposed regarding the new Constitution was widely discussed and was claimed to be the response to the demand made by Azerbaijan,” Pashinyan noted yesterday during a discussion of the draft ideology of the “Real Armenia” concept with a group of citizens.
The Prime Minister emphasized that, in reality, within the framework of the “Real Armenia” ideology, it holds a different meaning, although “under these conditions, it is impossible to deny that the text, once finalized, will inherently have regional significance.”
Earlier, Pashinyan stated that the strategic goal of adopting the new Constitution is to transition from the “relic period” of a stateless nation to a functioning state-oriented people. He emphasized that it is crucial for the new Constitution to be adopted through a national referendum.
The Armenian authorities plan to prepare the text of the new Constitution before the next parliamentary elections, scheduled for 2026. However, a referendum on the matter is expected to take place after the elections.
