PM votes for prosperity of Armenia

Armenia’s Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan voted on Sunday for prosperity of Armenia.

YEREVAN, May 6. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan voted on Sunday for prosperity of Armenia.
The head of Armenian government is said to appear at a polling station in a good mood and accompanied by his family.
“I expect the citizens who have voting rights to do their duty,” the Prime Minister said after casting his ballot into the ballot-box.
He added that the government of Armenia created all the conditions to make the elections legitimate and fair.
“ I am sure that these elections will be the most transparent throughout Armenia’s independence period and our voters will remain satisfied with the polls process,” he said.
Tigran Sargsyan also referred to the second president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan’s statements that pick hole in the government’s performance, saying that he agrees with the first and the second presidents of the country, that we need changes.
“I think that Robert Kocharyan’s administration, that ensured security and double-digit economic growth of the country has enough experience and knowledge to make change in this country,” he said.
Armenia's Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has registered eight political parties and one electoral bloc for the May 6 parliamentary elections, which will compete for 90 proportional seats in the National Assembly. Besides the three coalition parties - the Republican Party of Armenia, Bargavach Hayastan (Prosperous Armenia) and Orinats Yerkir, there also the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF), Zharangutyun (Heritage), which has a combined list with Free Democrats, the Armenian National Congress (electoral bloc), the Democratic Party of Armenia, the Armenian Communist Party and the United Armenians party that are included in the ballots.
Total of 137 candidates will compete for 41 majoritarian seats in the parliament, and the two precincts will hold uncontested elections.
In compliance with the Electoral Code of Armenia parties should gain at least 5% of votes and a bloc- 7% to receive seats in the parliament.-0-
