Ruben Vardanyan and other captive Armenians are tortured in Azerbaijani prison - Tatoyan Center
YEREVAN, February 27. /ARKA/. The Tatoyan Center for Law and Justice reports torture against Ruben Vardanyan and other Armenian hostages held in an Azerbaijani prison.
'Ruben Vardanyan and all other Armenian hostages and captives are being brutally tortured in fabricated Azerbaijani trials aimed at satisfying the Azerbaijani authorities' thirst for revenge, solving political issues, asserting their power at the expense of the Armenian people's dignity, undermining our national identity, deepening tension and division between us, former Armenian human rights defender Arman Tatoyan says in his Facebook post.
According to him, these “trials” are necessary for the Azerbaijani authorities to legitimize their false political theses, absolve themselves of responsibility for ethnic cleansing in Artsakh and create the ground for aggression against Armenia.
'Ruben Vardanyan, Bako Sahakyan, Arkady Ghukasyan, David Ishkhanyan, Levon Mnatsakanyan, David Babayan, David Manukyan, Araik Harutyunyan and our other compatriots must be released immediately - every minute and hour of their captivity is a grave crime, We will also send targeted appeals to international organizations and the public, backed by the necessary justifications,' Tatoyan says.
