Russia must start treating Armenia as equal
YEREVAN, June 13. / ARKA /. Russia must revise its attitude to Armenia and start treating it as an equal, Richard Giragossian, head of the Yerevan-based Regional Studies Center (RSC) said today at a discussion called to look into Armenia-EU Association Agreement.

"Armenian-Russian relations have always been important, but the problem is in the lack of balance and symmetry in their relationship," he said, describing Armenia as ‘the only reliable partner of Russia in the region.’

"Armenia has a much more strategic importance for Russia than it can imagine,” he added.

Speaking  on Armenia-EU talks on the Association Agreement, he said it will contribute to the development of Armenia and everyone, including Russia, will benefit from it.

"A stable, more democratic and developing Armenia is  in the interests of Russia", Giragossian said.  -0-
