Signing of the Armenia-EU "New Partnership Agenda" is planned in the coming months - MFA

YEREVAN, March 24. /ARKA/. The signing of the "New Partnership Agenda" between Armenia and the EU is planned for the coming months. This was announced by Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan at a meeting of the parliamentary commission on European integration on Monday.
"The negotiations are nearing completion. It is expected that this will take place at the next meeting of the Armenia-EU Partnership Council. Currently, June is being discussed as a possible date," Hovhannisyan said.
He noted that Armenia and the EU are discussing the issue of expanding assistance to Armenian government agencies.
"This has become one of the key topics at the CEPA Retreat. We are working on these matters with Brussels and in other formats. One of the options for assistance is the institution of consultants. We already have a high-ranking consultant from the EU working in the government. Additionally, five consultants from France are working in various ministries. Discussions are ongoing with other EU member states," Hovhannisyan said.
He mentioned that strengthening the functions of various ministries, as well as the creation of relevant units for European integration within them, are also under discussion.
The "New Partnership Agenda" between Armenia and the European Union is an initiative aimed at expanding and deepening cooperation in various areas, including security sector reform and visa liberalization. Negotiations on this agenda are nearly complete, with 15 rounds of talks having taken place between February 2024 and March 2025.
