YEREVAN, May 16. /ARKA/. The content of the text of the peace treaty with Azerbaijan is not disclosed and is withheld from the Armenian public, Secretary of the Armenian National Assembly opposition faction “I Have Honor” Tigran Abrahamyan said.

“To the simple question of why this document is not signed - leaving aside the numerous problems that take place in the whole negotiation process - our public does not get an answer to this question,” Abrahamyan said at parliamentary press briefings on Friday.

On March 13, the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan separately announced the successful conclusion of negotiations on a peace agreement.

On the same day this was announced, Armenia issued an official statement calling for the start of consultations to determine the place and time of signing the agreement.

However, Azerbaijan unexpectedly put forward two preconditions for signing the agreement. One of the conditions requires Armenia to amend the Constitution, claiming that it contains “territorial claims against Azerbaijan,' which Armenia considers unfounded.

Azerbaijan's other demand concerns the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group. Armenia responded by saying it was ready to jointly address the OSCE on this issue either after or simultaneously with the signing of the agreement.

More than 60 states and organizations welcomed the progress and called for the signing of the peace agreement. Of particular importance. French President Macron stated that there are no more obstacles to regional peace and development.-0-
