"Prime Minister Pashinyan accepted this invitation with willingness and a sense of responsibility, reaffirming Armenia's commitment to promoting peace," Baghdasaryan wrote on Facebook.
According to RBC, US President Donald Trump announced the creation of the Gaza Peace Council on January 16, 2026. The establishment of this organization was part of the American leader's peace plan for Gaza, along with the deployment of international forces. The goal of the council as an international organization is to promote stability, ensure peace, and restore "trustworthy and legitimate" governance in regions where conflicts have occurred or are at risk of erupting.
The executive committee of the Council will include US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff, the president's son-in-law Jared Kushner, and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
