Caucasus Railway opens computer class in Armavir secondary school

The South Caucasus Railway (SCR) company, operating Armenia’s railroads, said today it has opened a computer class with a possibility of interactive learning at number 5 secondary school in Armavir, 40 km southwest of Yerevan.
YEREVAN, October 11, /ARKA/. The South Caucasus Railway (SCR) company, operating Armenia’s railroads, said today it has opened a computer class with a possibility of interactive learning at number 5 secondary school in Armavir, 40 km southwest of Yerevan.

A press release by the Russia-managed company said the ceremony was attended by SCR chief executive officer Shevket Shaydulin, provincial governor Ashot Ghahramanian and head of JNC Alpha company Hayk Faramazian.

The secondary school number 5 has 1,140 students. According to the press release, the opening of computer class was facilitated by Russian ambassador to Armenia, Vyacheslav Kovalenko. The class is equipped with 10 computers and other devices. Apart from Internet access the class will also teach students some subjects, including the Russian language on-line.

‘This project is a bright illustration of an active interaction between Armenia-based Russian companies and the embassy aimed to help strengthen humanitarian relations between the two countries,’ the press release said.

The South Caucasus Railways is run by Russian Railways. The concessional agreement was concluded in 2008 for 30 years, with a right of extension for another 20 years after the first 20 years of operation.-0-
