A passenger train travelling from Yerevan to Gyumri stoned, window broken

YEREVAN, October 25. /ARKA/. The employees of the Security Service of the South Caucasus Railway (SCR) together with law enforcement agencies are taking measures to identify the person or persons who threw stones Sunday at the electric train traveling from Yerevan to the second-largest town of Gyumri in the northwester region of Shirak.
According to a statement issued today by the South Caucasus railway, as a result a window of the electric train was broken. It said luckily, none of the passengers on the overcrowded carriage of the train was injured. The incident took place on the Noragavit-Yerevan stretch.
The South Caucasus Railway (SCR) is a 100% subsidiary of the Russian Railways OJSC. Armenian railway infrastructure was placed under concession management of SCR in accordance with the Concession Agreement signed on February 13, 2008. The concession management period is 30 years with the right to extend it for another 10 years. -0-
