Armenia's population will shrink by 400,000 by 2050- World Population Review

YEREVAN, January 16. /ARKA/. The population of Armenia may decrease by about 400,000 people by 2050, according to the World Population Review.
The review notes that Armenia currently ranks 140th in the world in terms of population among 234 countries.
It is reported that the population of the country increased by about 30,000 people last year, reaching 2,973,840 people in 2025, compared to 2,943,390 in 2023.
According to the forecasts from the World Population Review, the annual population growth rate in Armenia will decrease in the coming years. By 2050, net migration is expected to regularly be at least 5,000 people per year, and the birth rate will remain below the global average—around 1.51— which does not contribute to population growth.
If these trends continue, the annual growth rate is expected to slow to 0.47% by 2050. As a result, the population of Armenia will be 2,907,463 in 2030, 2,818,399 in 2040, and 2,600,184 by 2050.
The top three countries by population are India (1.45 billion), China (1.419 billion), and the United States (over 345.4 million). Among the countries with the smallest populations are Tokelau (a territory under New Zealand’s control with 2,506 residents), Niue Island in the Pacific Ocean (1,819), and the Vatican (496).
