Armenia’s confirmed COVID-19 cases rise to 42,056

As of 11:00 on Wednesday, August 19, there were 34,982 recovered COVID-19 patients in Armenia, the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention says in its daily report.

YEREVAN, August 19. /ARKA/. As of 11:00 on Wednesday, August 19, there were 34,982 recovered COVID-19 patients in Armenia, the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention says in its daily report.
In total, there are 42,056 confirmed COVID-19 infection cases, 833 deaths and 35,226 recovered patients in the country. This means that 210 new infection cases, 244 recovered patients and one death have been recorded since yesterday’s report.
The woman who died yesterday was 70 years old. She had chronic diseases.
According to the report, 188,567 people have been tasted for the coronavirus since the beginning of the epidemic. As many as 5,748 patients are being treated now.
A state of emergency was declared in Armenia on March 16, 2020 in order to suppress the spread of COVID-19, and then it was extended five times. Thus, according to the government's decision of August 12, the state of emergency is in effect in Armenia until 17:00 on September 11.
At the same time, restrictions on free movement and some types of economic activity introduced from March 24 were lifted on May 4, and, public transport, gyms, kindergartens and catering facilities resumed operating from May 18. From August 12, foreigners’ entry to the country was allowed. Holding meetings and rallies was allowed as well, but with wearing masks and observing social distance.
As of the morning of August 17, 41,701 confirmed COVID-19 infection cases, 824 deaths and 34,655 recovered patients were recorded in Armenia. -0--
