Armenia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports is to have its 2022 budget  increased by 27.4% to 226.343 billion drams,  Finance Minister Tigran Khachatryan said at a discussion of the draft 2022 state budget in parliament today.

YEREVAN, November 8. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports is to have its 2022 budget increased by 27.4% to 226.343 billion drams, Finance Minister Tigran Khachatryan said at a discussion of the draft 2022 state budget in parliament today.

Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan said that most of the funds (about 175 billion drams) will be channeled into the education sector, which is 23.3% more than this year’s figure.

He said also that about 22.5 billion drams are earmarked for scientific and scientific-technical research, which is 65.6% more than in 2021.

According to the minister, 16.5 billion drams are to be allocated to culture, which is 7.4% more than in 2021.

The draft budget for 2022 calls for 1 trillion 946 billion drams in revenue (17% more compared to 2021), and 2 trillion 190 billion drams in spending (10% more than last year). The economic growth forecast is 7%. ($1 - 475.91 drams) - 0--
