Armenian government approves the program of Dilijan international school

The Armenian government has approved today the program of Dilijan International School, which is designed for over 600 local and foreign students in the Armenia resort town of Dilijan, and the list of organizations that will be engaged in its implementation.

YEREVAN, October 23. / ARKA /. The Armenian government has approved today the program of Dilijan International School, which is designed for over 600 local and foreign students in the Armenia resort town of Dilijan, and the list of organizations that will be engaged in its implementation. 

Finance minister David Sargsyan said this decision forms a special legal framework for granting the school tax and customs privileges.

By another decision the cabinet has approved the procedure for application of the tax and customs benefits under the program.

Dilijan International School (DIS) is a private charity project initiated by Ruben Vardanyan, a well-known Russian businessman of Armenian descent, the co-head of Russian Sberbank CIB. The total cost of the project is $150 million, of which $20 million have been already invested in the project.  

The school is intended for boys and girls aged 13 to 19. It will offer a globally regarded education to bright students from all over the world at $30,000 a year. The school will be launched in 2014 September.-0-
