YEREVAN, August 15. /ARKA/. The opposition bloc Yelk (Exit) in the Armenian parliament has put into circulation two bills calling for providing certain tax privileges, the head of the Yelk faction Nikol Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook page.

On of the bills calls for exempting sale of medicines in Armenia from VAT. According to Pashinyan, the move would help cut extremely high prices for medicines in Armenia.

The second bill is about property tax. In particular, under the current legislation, career army officers are exempted from property taxes until the 20th year of their service, but they lose these privileges after having served 21 years and more.

"By this bill we propose that privileges awarded to career army officers concerning property tax remain in effect throughout their term of service in the ranks of the Armenian armed forces, as well as grant similar privileges to other persons in the military service, including contract servicemen," Pashinyan said. -0-
