Armenian Prosecutor General's Office demands confiscation of 14 real estate properties and 6 billion drams from former MP Aleksandr Sargsyan
YEREVAN, October 8. /ARКА/. Armenian Prosecutor General's Office demands confiscation of 14 real estate properties and about 6 billion drams from former MP Aleksander Sargsyan (brother of former President Serzh Sargsyan).
On September 30, 2024, the Anti-Corruption Court accepted for consideration another claim of the Prosecutor General's Office on confiscation of property of illegal origin.
"The Department for Confiscation of Property of Illegal Origin of the Prosecutor General's Office submitted a petition to the court demanding confiscation of 14 real estate properties, 8 movable properties and 5 billion 92 million drams from former MP Aleksander Sargsyan and his affiliates in favor of the Republic of Armenia," the statement said.
Earlier it was reported that by decision of the Investigative Department of the National Security Service on July 9, 2018, the property of Aleksander Sargsyan was seized.
"During the investigation of criminal cases brought against Aleksander Sargsyan, the latter voluntarily transferred to the state an amount equivalent to 18.5 million US dollars," the Prime Minister's Office reported. -0-
