Eight Armenian schoolchildren became winners at an international mathematical competition, Kangaroo-2014, the press office of Ayb educational foundation reported.

YEREVAN, May 23. /ARKA/. Eight Armenian schoolchildren became winners at an international mathematical competition, Kangaroo-2014, the press office of Ayb educational foundation reported.

The contest was held in 1,040 schools in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh Republic on March 27. Over 43,000 pupils participated in the competition.

Armenian winners are Zaruhi Hakobyan (4th grade, Yerevan), Albert Gevorgyan (11th grade, Yerevan), Eduard Minasyan (12th grade, Yerevan), Tigran Shakhkyan (12th grade, Yerevan), Zina Ghazaryan (4th grade, Lori region), Naira Shahbazyan (4th grade, Lori region), Erik Melikyan (4th grade, Lori region) and Mher Avetisyan (Shirak region).

Special prizes will be presented to 844 schoolchildren.

The competition has been held in Armenia for the sixth time with the number of Armenian participants reaching a record-high level.

The contest in Armenia is organized by Ayb educational foundation and supported by Bank VTB (Armenia) under the auspices of the ministries of education of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
