YEREVAN, May 3. /ARKA/. On May 2, some 100 thousand doses of Covid-19 coronavac vaccines manufactured by the Chinese Cinovac company arrived in Armenia, the Ministry of Health reported.

The first batch is enough to vaccinate as many as 500,000 people twice. The government expects the vaccination to help stabilize the pandemic situation.

According to the Ministry of Health, any citizen of the country as well as foreigners living in Armenia can get vaccinated against COVID-19 in clinics throughout the country, regardless of their permanent residence, seven days a week.

The process of large-scale vaccination started in Armenia on April 13. The goal is to have as many as 700,000 people get vaccinated during the year.

Armenia has already bought 24 thousand doses of AstraZeneca and 29,000 dozes of Russian Sputnik V vaccines. Vaccination is voluntary for all citizens over 18 years of age. -0-
