Five new airlines enter Armenian market in 2024 – Minister
YEREVAN, January 9. /ARKA/. In the past year, five new airlines entered the Armenian market, announced David Khudatyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, on Thursday. However, he did not specify which airlines were involved.
"As of December 25, 2024, Armenia's airports served 5,251,932 passengers," Khudatyan said at the final press conference.
In addition, 41,470 tons of cargo were transported by air. A total of 71 flights were made on the Yerevan-Kapan-Yerevan route from the airport in the city of Kapan.
According to Armenian Statistical Committee data, in the first 10 months of 2024, air transport accounted for 32,500 tons of cargo out of a total of 13.7 million tons (an increase of 16.1%). As for passenger transport, air travel accounted for 4.6 million passengers out of a total of 183 million, representing a 1% decrease.
