Governor’s advisor killed by wife

Manuk Simonyan, an advisor to the governor of the Armenian province of Armavir, was killed by his wife, law-enforcement authorities said today.

YEREVAN, July 28. /ARKA/. Manuk Simonyan, an advisor to the governor of the Armenian province of Armavir, was killed by his wife, law-enforcement authorities said today. They said a preliminary investigation revealed that Simonyan periodically subjected his wife to violence.
On July 23, Simonyan’s wife reported to the police that her husband, Manuk Simonyan, had left home at about 10 pm the previous day and had not returned. On 25 July at 23:30 the dead body of Simonyan, 52, was found near the village of Dalarik.
Police said in the morning of July 22 a quarrel occurred between the couple, after which the husband fell asleep. His wife hit the sleeping husband with a hatchet, who died from the injuries. Then the woman called her son and asked him to come home , after which they transported the corpse and hid it in the ravine near the village of Dalarik ", the police report says.
The wife and the son have been detained. -0-
