High-ranking policeman in Armenia suspected of stealing 8,000 liters of gasoline
YEREVAN, February 7. /ARKA/. A high-ranking police officer in Armenia is suspected of stealing coupons for 8,000 liters of gasoline intended for police cars.
Internal Security and Anti-Corruption Department of the Armenian Interior Ministry in the course of official investigation found out that on December 8 the officer received coupons for 8 thousand liters of gasoline intended for police cars of the subdivision he headed, but by January 9 he no longer had these coupons.
The policeman claimed that he used the coupons to pay off debts (of the subdivision) to various gas stations in Yerevan, but his words were refuted during the official investigation.
Thus, the police noted, the official, using his official powers, stole the gasoline entrusted to him. The case has been transferred to the Prosecutor General's Office to determine further actions. --0--
