YEREVAN, December 6. /ARKA/. The investigation launched into AMD 1-million bribe reception by three employees of the Armenian State Revenue Committee is already completed, the press office of the Special Investigation Committee reported on Thursday.

Earlier, S.E., the chief of the committee’s division in charge of supervising inspections of small taxpayers was charged with receiving an AMD 1-million ($2,066) bribe, and his deputy S.A. and an officer of the same division V.L. were charged with receiving a bribe with using extortion in collusion with other persons.

On October 15 S.A. and V.L. met with the head of a company and put groundless accusations of irregularities to him and, threatening with termination of the company’s activity, demanded a bribe from him.

They arranged for a meeting on October 19. On October 22, S.A. received the bribe.

Later, the bribe takers were taken into pole custody, and the money was found and seized by the police.

The investigators asked court authorization of the arrest of the three offenders and their motion was sustained – the three officers of the State Revenue Committee were detained.

The investigation is already over and the case is sent to the prosecutor for further presentation in court. -0---
