YEREVAN, June 1. /ARKA/. The positive results of the COVID-19 tests of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his family members’ tests for the coronavirus cannot affect the natural work of the National Assembly, Lilit Makunts, the head of My Step faction, said Monday at a briefing.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today that he and all his family members tested positive for coronavirus.

“The prime minister was in parliament last four days. All MPs were masked, and I think that there should be no problem,” said Makunts.

According to her, all lawmakers in the parliament building wear masks and comply with anti-epidemiological requirements.

“If the ministry of health considers it necessary that we pass the tests, we will do it,” she said.

However, Makunts did not rule out the possibility of holding remote parliamentary meetings, noting that this issue was discussed from the first days of the pandemic.

At the moment, she said, the matter is under discussion, since there are certain difficulties.

“However, the work of the National Assembly will not be stopped,” she said.

The state of emergency, introduced in Armenia on March 16, 2020 and extended to May 14, is again extended until 17:00 on June 13 inclusive.

As of Monday morning, there were 9,282 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 3,402 recovered patients and 139 deaths in Armenia. --0---
