Official of Armenia's Social Service accused of taking bribes for processing pension documents

YEREVAN, March 1. /ARKA/. Armenia's Anti-Corruption Committee said it has revealed cases of bribe-taking by an official of the Unified Social Service.
It said s that from November through December 2023, the official demanded and received various amounts as bribes from a number of individuals for processing their pension documents.
In particular, the official, identified as S.A., demanded and received a bribe of 400 thousand drams (almost $1000) from the husband of a woman doe processing the latter's pension documents.
In addition, S.A. received a bribe of 60 thousand drams (about $150) from another man for processing his pension documents.
Another episode showed that S.A. demanded 432 thousand drams (about 1.1 thousand dollars) from the relatives of a man with dual citizenship who was applying for a pension.
The investigation was completed. The prosecutor approved the indictment and the case materials were sent to court. -0-
