Over 11,800 school leavers to apply for higher schools in Armenia in 2015

Some 11,803 secondary school leavers are applying for entrance at higher schools in Armenia, the government press office reported referring to the meeting on the uniform exam presided over by the country’s premier Hovik Abrahamyan on Saturday.

YEREVAN, May 18. /ARKA/. Some 11,803 secondary school leavers are applying for entrance at higher schools in Armenia, the government press office reported referring to the meeting on the uniform exam presided over by the country’s premier Hovik Abrahamyan on Saturday.
There are a total of 34 examination centers in the country, according to the report. The first uniform exam will be held on June 2 and the last one on June 23, director of the assessment and testing center Gagik Melikyan said. The list of heads of the examination centers has been already improved. The tests are sent to England and will be printed and delivered to Armenia already on May 25.
The government is ready to provide the required support, the premier said at the meeting. He stressed the importance of the concerted efforts of the examination centers and requested the centers to ensure transparent and fair testing process this year.
There was not much discontent about the uniform exams last year, but improvements should be recorded this year, Abrahamyan said.
Most importantly, trust should be regained, he said.
According to the website of Armenia’s ministry of education, there are currently some 24 higher schools in the country. –0—
