Second military man found dead in Armenia
YEREVAN, January 10, /ARKA/. Senior Lieutenant of the Armenian Armed Forces Mikayel Danielyan was found dead of a gunshot wound at a combat position, the Defense Ministry reported.
The incident occurred around 11:30 on January 9. Earlier in the day, another serviceman of the Armenian Armed Forces, Senior Lieutenant Karen Karapetyan, was found shot dead at his combat outpost.
A serviceman was arrested on suspicion of Karapetyan's murder. Authorities launched an immediate investigation to find out the details of the incidents.
Lieutenant General Edward Asryan, chief of the Armed Forces General Staff, on Tuesday visited the 2nd Army Corps where the incidents occurred, the Defense Ministry said.
He ordered that everything possible be done to conduct a proper investigation, find out the reasons and eliminate similar incidents in the future.
Asryan also ordered to strictly observe statutory relations while on combat duty, observe safety rules and consistently carry out all measures aimed at improving discipline. -0-
