Some 25,000 Karabakh refugees already employed in Armenia - Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs

YEREVAN, March 26. /ARKA/. Some 25,000 refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh have already found jobs in Armenia, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan said today.
“Some of them are engaged in entrepreneurship, which means that our programs should be more targeted in the future,” Mkrtchyan noted during the government Q&A session in the parliament.
Regarding assistance programs for the refugees, he expressed the opinion that constant dependence on assistance programs hinders their integration into society.
According to the Ministry of Social Affairs, as of January 2025, about 89.3 billion drams had been provided to the forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno Karabakh under short-term, medium-term and long-term assistance programs.
From April this year, assistance will become more targeted, stimulating employment as well as a housing program.-0-
