Special program for children with disabilities launched in Lori (video)

YEREVAN, December 12. /ARKA/. The ‘Full Life’ center for promotion of inclusive society in Stepanavan helps children with disabilities to return to a full life through kinesiotherapy, speech therapy, psychologist, art therapy and other special services.

The Center’s work focuses on training and development of children in order to help them get involved in society and have a meaningful daily life through development of independent life skills.

The Stepanavan center is one of the beneficiaries of Stepan Gishyan Charitable Foundation. With the support of the Foundation, the center's kinesiotherapy room was fully furnished and equipped with more than 20 items.

"The center is of great importance for the enlarged community of Stepanavan. It has now about 130 beneficiaries living there. About 60 of them are using the kinesiotherapy room, which with its necessary assets will serve the center and the beneficiaries for many years to come. It is important for us that this is a long-term program, because a large number of people can benefit from it, given that this center is the only one in the region that provides various services free of charge," said Anna Gishyan, Director of Stepan Gishyan Charitable Foundation.

"Our efforts would have been equal to zero if there were no such structures as Stepan Gishyan Charitable Foundation. This center is unique for Stepanavan and Tashir because there is a need for such a service and people simply don't have the opportunity to go to another town or district center to use them. Thanks to this program, this problem has been solved," said Suren Magakyan, President of the ‘Full Life ‘ Charitable NGO.

This is the second time the "Full Life" center becomes a beneficiary of the Stepan Gishyan Charitable Foundation. In 2017, with the support of the Foundation, the center purchased an adapted car to provide transportation for children with disabilities. The car fulfills its functions to this day.

Stepan Gishyan Charitable Foundation was established by Acba Bank, French Credit Agricole, the National Federation of Credit Agricole and Stepan Gishyan's family. The programs of the foundation are aimed at strengthening the Armenian-French relations, improving the social-economic, scientific-educational, cultural and medical systems of Armenia.
