The Yerevan municipality has released 48 million drams for organization of a series of festive New Year events in the capital city, deputy mayor Aram Sukiasyan said today.
YEREVAN, December 16. / ARKA /. The Yerevan municipality has released 48 million drams for organization of a series of festive New Year events in the capital city, deputy mayor Aram Sukiasyan said today.
He said the lights on the New Year Tree on Republic Square and also festive illuminations in the administrative districts of Yerevan will be turned on December 22. He said at 7 pm December 22 the Republic Square will host a large festive event with the participation of the mayor Taron Margaryan. It will be followed by a concert, featuring popular singers Aram MP3, Zara Babayan, Andre and others.
December 23 will feature the opening of the ice rink on the Swan Lake in downtown Yerevan that will operate until the spring of next year.
Sukiasyan said the Republic Square will host another big concert on December 31 and January 1 with fireworks. The underground railway on that day will work until 2 am.
On January 6 Yerevan will host Christmas celebrations. Festive events will conclude on January 13 by an event on Republic Square to mark the Old New Year. ($ 1-490.34 drams). - 0-
