YEREVAN, October 18. /ARKA/. Armen Gyulbudaghyants, the manager of the Armenia national football team, has resigned, the press office of the Armenian Football Federation reported on Friday. In his words, the resignation has been prompted by the team's failure to secure Euro 2020 berth.
"This is already one year I am chief manager of the Armenian national. There were either happy or sad moments connected with the team's performance over this period," he said. "Although the qualification round is not over so far, I have made a difficult decision - to resign, since I fell short of Armenian fans' expectations."
He thanked the coaches and the medical service staff as well as football players, head of the Armenian Football Federation and all those who had always helped and created good conditions for working.
Gyulbudaghyants also expressed gratitude to all fans who had provided support in the most complicated moments.
Arthur Vanetsyan, head of the Armenian Football Federation, thanked Armen Gyulbudaghyants for the job done. "Over one year, Armen Gyulbudaghyants has proven to be a high-qualified professional, and he has also been distinguished for his high human characteristics," he said.
In the last two Euro 2020 qualifying round matches with Liechtenstein and Finland, Armenia's national has scored only one point depriving itself from any chance to reach Euro 2020. -0---
