YEREVAN, December 6. /ARKA/. Armenia’s chess players were the fifth (with 11 points) in the world team chess championship in Turkey’s Antalya.

Armenians lost to Ukrainians 1.5-2.5 in the final round of the championship. Anton Korobov defeated Vladimir Hakobyan, whereas the other games, Levon Aronyan-Vasily Ivanchuk, Gabriel Sargsyan- Alexander Moiseenko, Tigran L. Petrosyan-Alexander Areshenko were draws.

The Russian team with 15 points has become the winner of the tournament. China and Ukraine had 14 points each, yet China ranked the second with additional indicators. The Netherlands had 9 points, Germany 8 points, Azerbaijan 7 points, Turkey 3 points and Egypt 0 points.

During the tournament Armenian chess players had draws 2:2 with Russians and Azerbaijanis, won over Egyptians (3:1), Americans (2.5:1.5), Turks (3:1) and Dutch (3.5-1.5) and lost to Chinese (1.5:2.5), Germans (1:3) and Ukrainians (1.5-2:5). –0--
