Armenian national head coach submits resignation, football federation president declines it

Vardan Minasyan, head coach of Armenia’s national soccer team, submitted today his resignation to Ruben Hayrapetyan, president of the Armenian Football Federation, after his squad sustained a crushing defeat from Czech national in a World Cup 2014 qualifier.

YEREVAN, March 28. /ARKA/. Vardan Minasyan, head coach of Armenia’s national soccer team, submitted today his resignation to Ruben Hayrapetyan, president of the Armenian Football Federation, after his squad sustained a crushing defeat from Czech national in a World Cup 2014 qualifier.
However, Ruben Hayrapetyan did not accept the coach’s resignation, the Armenian Football Federation’s press office reports.
The Armenian national was humiliated by Czech footballers 0-3 on March 26 in Yerevan.
This is the fourth consecutive defeat of the Armenia’s team. This row of losses prompted a burst of criticism in social networks with demand for the coach to resign. -0-
